Are there any at home remedies that can help get rid of pimple scaring?

A couple years ago I broke out of pimples on my cheecks and fore-head and left ugly scars. I was wondering if there are any remedies I can do at home that are inexpensive and easy to do.|||This really depends on the type of scars that you have -- whether they are the hyperpigmentation (reddish-brown discoloration) scars or whether they are indentation (ice-pick) type of scars. The hyperpigmentation scars are easier to treat, but you will get the best results with relatively inexpensive over-the-counter products that contain hydroquinone (a type of %26quot;bleaching%26quot; agent that disrupts melanin activity). Products that contain salicylic acid will also help to diminish redness and discoloration from this type of scarring. Another product that will help is Mederma; it contains allicin, an onion extract which has been demonstrated to help smooth scars and reduce discoloration. Ice-pick / indentation scars are more difficult to treat. A retinoid cream or gel (available only through a dermatologist) will give you results after long-term use, but chemical peels or laser peels are the best treatment option for ice-pick scars. At-home remedies don%26#039;t do a lot for the scarring, but some can help treat acne before the scarring occurs.|||You didn%26#039;t mention what type of scarring you have, but you must know that there are no home remedies to fix acne scars of any kind. Using ingredients from your kitchen cabinet may irritate your skin and cause it to break out.

If your scarring is discoloration, then you should look into skin lighteners such as hydroquinone or gentler ones like kojic acid. Adding a product containing glycolic acid (at the fight ph level) will speed up the lightening of your spots. Of course none of this will work if you do not use sunscreen.

If your scarring is more serious and it looks like (no offense) tiny craters where smooth skin should be, then you need to contact a dermatologist and look into laser surgery, microdermabrasion, etc.

I know a lot of people want to keep it natural, organic and cheap, but when it comes to your skin, science and technology can be a big help.
