How can you tell the difference between a black head pimple or an ingrown hair?

I have a dot on my upper cheek. I%26#039;m not sure which is which. How do I treat an ingrown hair? It is very small, but hasn%26#039;t gone away in a week.|||Im guessing it is a black head, most people dont get ingrown hair on there face if there a girl. Idk if your a girl or boy so yeah.
