How can u tell the difference between a cold sore and a pimple on ur lip? what r there differnces?

Also what percentage of people have ever had a cold sore in there lifetime?|||about 70-80% of the populations have cold sores so its pretty common. there are differences between pimples and cold sores although they can look alike. usually cold sores start off with some pain, tingleling or burning sensation at the site of an outreak, then dry skin also at the site, the a cut, sore, or pimple like thing would apprear. they would be painful for most of the outbreak duration. with acne, there is usually no pain involved, just slight itching sometimes and a raised red mark on your face appears. acne is also curable or treatable. oral herpes ae not curable but they are treateable with creams and medication.

i%26#039;m part of the percentage who as them.|||yes it really is and they really are cvery contagious. just don%26#039;t have oral sex while your cold sore is there. Report Abuse
|||doesn%26#039;t matter if u have had oral sex. all it takes is kissing some oe who has cold sores or sharing things that go intoor on your mouth with some one that has cold sores. Report Abuse
|||Cold sores are pretty common. The are caused by the herpes virus (there are two types, simplex 1 and simplex 2; one causes cold sores, the other causes genital herpes). Cold sores usually come out when the person is sick or under stress and the body can%26#039;t fight them off.

They are bigger and more painful than little pimples, and the edges are usually kind of crusty. If you decide you don%26#039;t have a cold sore, be sure not to kiss people that have them or drink after other people... this will cut down on your chances of getting them.|||i get a cold sore every 6 months or so. im not sure why and i dont have herpes. but they%26#039;re usually way more painful and itch more. and bigger.

but i didnt think you could get a pimple directly on your lip but extremely close to it.
