How long does the discoloration from after a pimple forms last?

Like the little brownish spots from after it goes away. I don%26#039;t pop my pimples and am using medications from a dermatologist.|||mine only last a couple days or so...a week at most|||i still have them, its been 3 years :%26#039;(
